We can all agree on one thing – life without air conditioning has become unimaginable. High summer temperatures and heatwaves, as well as cold winter winds, have made it impossible to live without an air conditioner in your home or office space.
If you still don’t own an AC unit and are thinking of buying one, we’ve prepared some tips to make your decision a little bit easier!
AC power
The most important feature of the AC is power, which determines its effectiveness in heating or cooling a space. The required power depends on factors such as room size (1 kW for every 10 m2), insulation, room orientation, intended use, etc.
Energy class
AC units are classified from A to A+++, with A+++ being the most energy-efficient. Higher-efficiency models may cost more initially but offer long-term energy savings.
SEER and SCOP are associated with the energy class and represent the seasonal efficiency ratio for cooling and heating, respectively. The higher these numbers, the more efficient the air conditioner.

Different types of air conditioners
Air conditioners come in mono and multi-split variants. Mono systems consist of one outdoor and one indoor unit, while multi-split systems have one outdoor unit connected to multiple indoor units.
The most common household choice is the mono split wall-mounted unit because of easier installation and maintenance. Other types of units include floor type, cassette, and duct units, each suited for different needs. Floor units offer better heating comfort but require more space, while cassette and duct units are typically used in commercial spaces due to their greater power and capacity.
It’s also worth mentioning portable air conditioners that don’t require installation. You simply plug them in and connect a pipe for exhausting warm air.
We recommend having your AC installed before the summer season, when there are fewer crowds and a shorter waiting period for the installation.
